Addressing Eating Disorder: Program for Transformation.
An eating disorder can control your life and exhaust both your body and your mind. It is important to know that you are not alone. Addressing the eating disorder together is the first step to recovery. In this text, you will read about the different types of eating disorders and how the Program for Transformation might help.
We do not offer treatments as we are not doctors.
We do offer psychedelic experiences that can provide insight into behavior.
What is an eating disorder?
An eating disorder is a mental illness in which a person has a disturbed relationship with food. This can manifest itself in various ways, such as eating too little, eating too much or an obsession with control over food and weight.
Different types of eating disorders
Anorexia nervosa
People with anorexia have an intense fear of gaining weight and eat (much) too little. They often see themselves as too fat, even if they are severely underweight. This can lead to serious health problems such as malnutrition and organ problems.
Bulimia nervosa
In bulimia, periods of binge eating alternate with compensatory behaviors, such as vomiting, extreme exercise or using laxatives. People with bulimia often feel guilty after a binge and try to get rid of the calories as quickly as possible.
Binge Eating Disorder (BED)
This is similar to bulimia, but without the compensatory behavior. People with BED have frequent binge eating episodes where they eat large amounts of food in a short period of time, often without feeling hungry. This can lead to obesity and emotional problems.
Orthorexia
People with orthorexia are obsessive about healthy eating. They avoid more and more foods and may become malnourished as a result. Although orthorexia is not an official diagnosis, it can be just as harmful as other eating disorders.
ARFID (Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder).
ARFID occurs mostly in children and means that a person eats very selectively or avoids certain foods completely. This can lead to nutrient deficiencies and growth problems.
How can the Program for Transformation help with an eating disorder?
- Breaking negative thinking patterns
- Psychedelic experiences can help you release destructive beliefs about yourself and food. During a truffle ceremony, insights can arise that help you deal with food and self-image differently. Often the basis of eating addiction is a disturbed family relationship.
- Connection with emotions
- Many people with eating disorders use eating (or avoiding it) as a way to suppress emotions. Psilocybin can help them feel through and process these feelings in a safe way.
- More self-love and acceptance
- An eating disorder is often accompanied by harsh judgment of yourself. Truffles can induce a deep sense of connection and acceptance, allowing you to look more mildly at yourself and your body.
For those looking for a long-term and structured approach, the Program for Transformation can be a valuable addition. This program combines psychedelic sessions with coaching, allowing insights from the truffle ceremony to be better integrated into daily life.
What does the program entail?
- Duration of three months: A course in which you are intensively guided in your process.
- Microdosing with truffles: Small doses of psilocybin help to subtly change habits and thought patterns.
- Personal coaching: Guidance to turn the insights gained into lasting change.
